What will you be doing?
The role is an opportunity to join the Hybrids & Inflation strat team in Paris. It has a high exposure to our Euro Inflation business, so we expect the candidate to be curious and business oriented. Principal responsibilities are to:
- Actively support our expanding EUR Inflation business with the opportunity to work with a highly experienced trader in Paris
- Enhance our current EUR Inflation tools portfolio recently created by the team such as Bond & Swap monitor tools, Global P&L spreadsheets whilst also participating in the design of new tools for the desk
- Contribute to the GBP Inflation business and its specificities (e.g. LPI market)
- Help improve the existing pricing/risk framework
- Be involved in modelling improvements in the Hybrids space both in either the mid or long term
QUALIFICATIONS
What we’re looking for:
- Strong mathematical, statistical or computer science background in an academic setting
- You have a few years of experience supporting trading desk as a quant or as a strat
- You have already designed innovative tools improving trading risk or pricing framework
- Pragmatic approach to ensuring delivery on a timely basis
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience from an Inflation desk or Flow Rates desk is a plus (but not a must)
- Ability to catch up new ideas quickly and to implement them with an innovative mindset
- You will possess practical problem-solving skills with a great attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English
- You have a keen interest in the financial markets and the drive and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

As we see increasing client interest in quantitative strategies, maintaining, and enhancing our leading position in risk analytics and technology is critical to our Institutional Securities Group (ISG) businesses globally. The seamless collaboration between technologists and ISG personnel, including data scientists, financial engineers and quantitative analysts helps to deliver innovative tools and solutions that differentiate us from our competitors.
Morgan Stanley is establishing a new Risk & Data Analytics (“R&D”) Centre in Paris, where it will support our growth strategy for ISG both in EMEA and more broadly. The Centre will deliver cutting-edge, proprietary solutions to address the rapidly changing business needs of our sales and trading franchise while providing a platform to foster innovation for our market’s businesses, driven by analytical and technological excellence.
